our story

Serving The Bitterroot Valley Since 1983

For more than four decades, Mikesell’s Fine Jewelry has been built on relationships, craftsmanship, and personal service. What began as a local jewelry store has grown into a trusted destination where generations of families return for jewelry, repairs, and guidance they can count on.

Helping customers celebrate milestones, preserve memories, and care for meaningful jewelry for generations.

We believe jewelry should be personal, meaningful, and made to last.

our approach

Relationships Matter More Than Transactions

At Mikesell’s Fine Jewelry, we take the time to listen, answer questions, and help customers make informed decisions. Whether you’re purchasing a gift, repairing a treasured piece, or exploring a custom design, our goal is to make the experience comfortable and enjoyable.

We’ve built our reputation by treating customers the way we’d want to be treated—with honesty, personal attention, and a genuine commitment to quality. That’s why so many families continue to return generation after generation.

A Lifetime Of Jewelry Experience

Cindy Mikesell, jeweler and original owner, of Mikesell’s Fine Jewelry, has been designing, creating, and restoring fine jewelry for more than 50 years.

Growing up, Cindy was introduced to the automotive industry by her father, who worked for General Motors. Time spent working in dealership service shops sparked a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship, precision, and classic cars—interests that would later influence her approach to jewelry making.

After studying Art and Psychology, Cindy opened her first jewelry store in Woodinville, Washington, in 1973. She later moved to Montana and opened Mikesell’s Fine Jewelry in Hamilton in 1983, where she has proudly served the Bitterroot Valley ever since.

While Cindy enjoys every aspect of the jewelry business, her favorite projects are intricate heirloom restorations and one-of-a-kind custom pieces created through her original wax carvings using the traditional lost wax casting method. She continues to attend jewelry trade shows each year to stay current with new techniques, discover new designers, and reconnect with friends throughout the jewelry industry.

Outside the store, Cindy enjoys spending time with her husband, John, tending to her extensive gardens and greenhouses, “Glamping” with their two Standard Schnauzers, Arthur and Winston, restoring classic cars, and working on projects around their home and property. If she’s not at the jewelry bench, chances are she’s building, fixing, or growing something beautiful.
